Rossiu Age: 25 Likes: Peace, quiet, something to pass the time with Dislikes: Chaos, dead silence, reality Hopes and Dreams: Get out of Nihil, become President, get married History It all started when a god fell through his roof. Well, maybe not a god. A Ganmen would be more accurate. It just came crashing down through the giant stone roof of his underground village as if it were a god. That’s when Rossiu met Kamina, Simon, Yoko, and Leeron. His first impression of them was… lacking, to say in the least. He saw Kamina as a cocky fool who had no respect for his own beliefs. Yoko was indecent, and needed to be taught proper manners. Simon, well, that kid wasn’t too bad. And Leeron… Rossiu wasn’t quite sure what he thought of him. They were a violent bunch, and he wished that they’d show some discretion for the villagers’ sakes. After all, they were from the heavens! They had arrived there with a god! But their meeting was interrupted. A woman had given birth to one girl and two boys. 52 villagers. That was against the rules. Rossiu knew very well that the village could only have 50 people, and he knew what was coming next. They would perform the ritual. “This is a ritual of blessing,” the high priest told him. Yet even then, Rossiu disliked having to abandon two people. It was like that other time. When it had been his mother that had been chosen. It just wasn’t fair. Despite his opinion, the ritual would take place tomorrow. In the meantime, his curiosity overwhelmed him. He once again approached the village’s visitors, asking them about the world above. Kamina started by shouting “Ganmen aren’t gods!” Could that be true? That large one, sitting in the lake had been there for so long. Before he was born! That was when his beliefs began to change, slowly but surely. The day of the ritual. Sticks were drawn. Tension wafted through the cavern like fog. The time arrived, and the two who would be leaving were Gimmy and Darry, two small children that Rossiu had a fondness for. He was sure that his disbelief was plastered all over his face. Not them… they’re too young! The high priest was unmoved. His duty was done. No hard feelings. Gimmy and Darry were to be taken to the heavens by the visitors from the surface. Kamina disagreed. He in no way wanted to take these two children to the surface. He called the high priest a fake in his anger, and Rossiu fought back with something he never thought he’d use. Violence. A small, wooden stick clutched in his hands, he asked “Why can people like this control a god?”. He didn’t understand. He couldn’t understand! Then it happened again. Another Ganmen fell from the ceiling and crashed into the ground in front of him. Rossiu was stunned, but Kamina and Yoko quickly fell into action, shortly followed by Simon. A battle between gods unfolded before Rossiu’s eyes, powerful and brute. A strange force kicked up inside of him and he began running for the old Ganmen that had been resting in the lake for so long. But when he got there, it had changed. Its eyes were glowing a vibrant yellow, and it was rising up out of the water. Then, it was running for the other two. The battle continued, now with three Ganmen. And suddenly, it was over. The enemy defeated. And it was none other than the high priest that stepped out of the village’s idol. Rossiu was baffled, yet he easily accepted the truth. Ganmen just weren’t gods. The religion he had lived by all his life was merely a tool. And the choosing of Gimmy and Darry had been planned. That’s when he decided. He would go to the surface with them, regardless of the truth. Then, the high priest handed him the village’s book of scriptures. Why would he do this? Rossiu couldn’t read, and he had left that religion behind. But the high priest replied with a laugh, “I can’t read either.”. Over time, Rossiu learned the ways of the people above ground. Even if it meant becoming ignorant, he conformed. It wasn’t something he did voluntarily; it just happened. He accompanied the Gurren Brigade on all of their adventures, and when Kamina died, he took his place in the cockpit of Gurren, though he had trouble piloting it. Especially with Simon’s depression. Throughout all of their hardships, Rossiu remained with the Brigade, eventually becoming second in command of Kamina City, the surface world that they had created together. But now, Simon is more carefree than he used to be. He’s not responsibly fulfilling his duties as first in command, and Rossiu has ideas of his own… Personality Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Donec tempor purus vitae justo. Aenean faucibus scelerisque odio. Vestibulum consequat dolor eu neque. Donec et nibh at orci hendrerit cursus. Aenean faucibus scelerisque odio. Because he grew up in a village where modesty was important, Rossiu is quite modest himself. For example, he greatly dislikes Yoko's outfit and other revealing clothes. He even gave her a different outfit to wear when they first met. He himself wears long sleeves and long pants, and wouldn’t wear less. At times, he can be arrogant and uptight. Quite often, actually. He takes his work extremely seriously and seems to care for nothing else. When he thinks that he's right, it takes a lot to tear down his opinion without decisive proof, and plenty of it. Now that he’s experienced more, his beliefs are firm, better stated than they used to be. In front of others, he doesn’t show much emotion. He can be seen as a stiff businessman that doesn’t care about others. However, that’s not true at all. As vice commander, he cares for the people of Kamina City greatly, and does all he can to help them thrive. They are, after all, the result of all his hard work.
